Banks can be unwilling in the current climate to provide all of the finance for a project. The solution in these situations can be to raise mezzanine finance that has more flexible terms than traditional debt finance but does not require the full dilution of an equity finance raise.
For example, we assisted a small hotel group with the raising of development funding for a redevelopment that the encumbent bank was unwilling to fund entirely without equity contribution from elsewhere.
We assist our clients by considering the needs of mezzanine providers in advance, such as visibility of their exit route, and positioning each opportunity accordingly. Only then do we make the introductions to a wide range of mezzanine providers to assess the market appetite. We remain very close to our clients throughout the process to ensure a successful completion for all parties.
